Beltline two-vehicle crash

According to the Madison Police Department, a two-vehicle crash occurred around 4 a.m. on June 4. The crash involved a semi-truck and SUV heading eastbound on Beltline, which was only open to one lane after the crash, causing 3-hour delays for some. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The accident resulted in injuries, and two ambulances responded to the scene. The Madison Fire Department spent about half an hour removing the crash victim from his SUV after the semi-truck pinned him inside his vehicle. Luckily, emergency responders safely removed and transported him to a nearby hospital. He suffered serious injuries. The driver of the semi refused care after emergency medical responders evaluated him.

Semi-truck accidents can be especially dangerous because they involve much larger vehicles than other accidents.
