Intoxicated driver arrested in Madison after crashing into storefront

In the evening of April 12, Madison police apprehended an intoxicated driver after she crashed her SUV into a clothing store, according to a report from  Nobody was reported to have been injured in the accident, which occurred around 5:00 p.m. on April 12 in the 800 block of East Johnson Street.  The vehicle’s driver was eventually charged with a first offense OWI and was transported to Dane County Jail.

The store’s facade sustained significant damages after the collision. The store’s owner, Lindsay Leno, stated that the accident occurred just minutes after she and others had completed a display in the front of the store.  Leno reported that none of the customers in the store were harmed.
