Driver arrested for striking child in Beloit hit-and-run crash

A female motorist was arrested in Beloit, Wisconsin for her involvement in a hit-and-run accident involving a child, a November 9 article on wrex.com reported.

According to Beloit Police reports, 24-year-old Amber Mayfield was arrested on suspicion of hitting a child who was riding a bike and then leaving the scene of the accident. The child, whose name was withheld, was struck near Madison and McKinley, and people on the scene notified 911 of the accident. Authorities managed to arrest Mayfield after releasing footage of the incident. Upon arrest, misdemeanor charges were filed against Mayfield.
