Pedestrian killed in Green Bay car crash

A pedestrian in Green Bay was killed and another was injured in a recent car accident on South Broadway, the Green Bay Press-Gazette stated on July 22.

The Green Bay Police Department stated that two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle in the 1900 block near the Georgia-Pacific paper mill. The victim, only known as a 56-year-old man, was killed in the collision while the second pedestrian, a 49-year-old man, was brought to a nearby hospital with injuries he sustained. Police did not release further details about the identities of the victims and the name of the vehicle operator who caused the accident.

The road going to the paper factory was temporarily closed and traffic flow was diverted while investigators worked at the crash scene. Although more details were not released, the police chief did say that intoxicants, including drugs and alcohol, were not thought to be factors that contributed to the crash.
