On-duty officer hurt in Milwaukee semi-truck accident

An on-duty Milwaukee police officer recently sustained injuries after the patrol vehicle he was driving was hit by a semi-truck, CBS 58 reported on April 21.

According to reports, the police car and truck collision happened at around 10:20 a.m. at the crossing of W. Bradley Road and N. 76th Street. The police car reportedly was heading west on W. Bradley when the accident took place. The officer driving the vehicle, only identified as a 56-year-old man, was taken to the hospital for treatment of the non-life threatening injuries he sustained. Reports revealed that the police car was highly visible with its siren on when the crash happened. The Milwaukee Police Department is conducting an investigation into the crash.

Injuries sustained in a truck accident may be particularly severe simply due to the massive size of these commercial vehicles.
