Family sues Takata and Honda over loved one’s death

A family in Texas recently sued Takata Corp and car manufacturer, Honda, after a loved one was killed in an accident, a January 30 report of stated.

In the lawsuit filed by the Solis family, 35-year-old Carlos Solis died in a minor crash on January 18 as a result of metal bits that shot from the airbag inflator when it exploded. He reportedly died of “blunt force injuries” to his neck. Though his death is not yet linked to the bursting airbags, Takata and Honda confirmed that the inflator installed in Solis’s Honda Accord exploded in the crash. Takata and many car manufacturers were recently lambasted for the defective airbags that caused several deaths and injuries in the U.S.
