Over 500 Nissan vans with seatbelt problems recalled

At least 594 new Nissan NV passenger vans are being recalled in the U.S. to repair seatbelt retractors that may malfunction during accidents.

According to the recall, the bolts in the seatbelt retractors of the affected vans may either be missing or suffer from improper tension that may fail to secure occupants in the event of an accident. The seatbelts with issues are situated on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rows of the recalled Nissan vans. Nissan firmly stated that injuries or deaths involving the recalled vans were unknown at the time the recall was issued. Nissan is expected to address the seatbelt problems in the affected vans this September.
