Bicyclist hurt in drunk driving accident

A bicyclist was flown to a hospital with injuries after being hit by a drunk driver in Sparta, WKBT-TV reported on July 22.

According to reports, 38-year-old Jeremy Briggs was heading eastbound down Wisconsin Street on his bike at 10:00 p.m. when a vehicle hit him from behind. Jeremy reportedly suffered serious injuries from the accident. The vehicle driver that caused the crash, identified as Amber Rhodes, was arrested and charged with suspected drunken driving and reckless driving resulting in injury. Because of the accident scene, traffic was rerouted for a few hours.

When an intoxicated driver takes to the road, everyone is endangered. In many cases, serious injuries are incurred from the irresponsible actions of a drunk driver. Fortunately, victims do not have to face this situation alone.
