Subaru also recalls vehicles with Takata airbags

Auto manufacturer Subaru joins several other automakers by issuing a recall of more than 8,000 vehicles in the U.S. that may have faulty airbags supplied by Takata, the Chicago Tribune reported on July 8.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Subaru complied with their request to issue a recall of these vehicles in regions with high humidity. At least seven automaker giants last month issued recalls of their vehicles equipped with Takata airbags due to the possibility that they may burst upon inflation. Subaru outlined the vehicle models that may be affected, mostly made in the years 2003 and 2004. Vehicles were also recalled from Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
