Harley-Davidson issues recall of thousands of motorcycles with fuel sensor issue

Over 9,000 Harley-Davidson Softail motorcycles are being recalled by their manufacturer due to a potential problem with the bikes’ fuel sensors.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said that at least 9,100 motorcycles are affected by a defective fuel sensor which could cause the vehicles to run out of fuel even before the fuel warning light turns on. Riders of the affected bikes may sustain injuries on the road if their engines suddenly stop, but fortunately, both the NHTSA and Harley-Davidson are unaware of any injuries resulting from this concern. Dealers have been asked to fix the fuel gauge of the recalled motorcycles.

Though no one was reportedly injured in the recent recall, the lawyers at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® know that in Madison alone many people sustain injuries due to defective motorcycles. If you or someone you love has been injured because of a motorcycle defect, our experienced legal team can help you evaluate the legal options that are available to you.
