6.4 million Toyota vehicles recalled worldwide

On April 9, auto manufacturer Toyota stated that they are recalling 6.4 million vehicles worldwide due to a series of defects in older models of their vehicles, the Washington Post reported.

Reports show that an airbag malfunction may occur in 3.5 million Toyota vehicles if a substandard spiral cable is damaged by turning the steering wheel. 1.3 million of the affected vehicles are in the U.S. Other recalls include replacing seat springs, repairing steering column brackets, starter motors that may cause a fire, and some issues that affect the windshield wiper motors.

Toyota has stated that they have not yet received any reports of injuries caused by the affected vehicles.
