Defective Jeeps await repairs

Chrysler has yet to enforce their recall for 1.56 million Jeep vehicles that pose a risk to drivers and passengers because of their potential to catch on fire. The initial Jeep recall was issued in June.

The recall was prompted by an investigation conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Chrysler consented to recall older models of Jeeps and repair them by putting trailer hitches on the cars. The hitches are designed to protect the gas can from potential irritation and fire.

Owners of the recalled Jeeps received a letter from Chrysler in December mentioning that parts for repair “do not exist.” Both Chrysler and the NHTSA have declined to comment on their delayed action to repair the vehicles.

Unfortunately driving recalled vehicles on the road may result in serious, even fatal, injuries. If you have sustained injuries while driving a defective vehicle, you could be eligible to pursue financial compensation.
