Ex-footballer killed in car crash

Former National Football League (NFL) player Thomas Howard was killed in a car accident in Oakland, California on the morning of Monday, November 18, an article from the Huffington Post reported.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Daniel Hil, the fatal accident happened at around 1 a.m. when the speeding vehicle of the 30-year-old former Raiders linebacker struck an oncoming vehicle on the freeway after it hit a truck, causing it to flip over the center barrier of the road. Howard’s vehicle then landed on top of the other vehicle. Howard and the driver of the other vehicle were pronounced dead on the spot.

Witnesses who saw the crash said the ex-footballer was traveling with an estimated speed of 100-110 mph when the accident happened. Officer Hill said alcohol is not yet ruled out as a cause of the accident.
