1,658 defective Chevrolet Sonic cars recalled

At least 1,658 recent models of Chevrolet Sonic mini cars  were voluntarily recalled by automaker giant General Motors after it was found that the vehicles could potentially cause fires, Reuters reported on October 7 .

According to the automaker, the 2013-2014 models of Chevrolet Sonic cars sold in the U.S. and Canada have faulty strap welds holding the fuel tank. The problem may eventually cause fires if the fuel tank becomes detached and is punctured.

There have yet to be any reported incidents of fire or injuries  linked to the recalled Sonic cars. However, owners of the recalled mini cars are advised to immediately have their vehicles fixed for free.

Though no one was reportedly injured by the recalled Sonic vehicle, our legal team at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® knows that many people in Madison are injured due to defective vehicles.
