Recall: Kia Borrego recalled due to faulty pedal mount

An alert was released by the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration that stated that the the 2009 Kia Borrego may have faulty brake pedal mounts in the vehicles that were made from May 2, 2008 to January 20, 2009. It has been stated that 21,942 vehicles are affected by this recall.

The issue occurs when fiberglass-containing pedal brakes in certain vehicles may break down in the event of a collision, which would cause the SUV to flip and roll.

If this happened, the vehicle would not stop with the brakes and a person would have to stop the car with the emergency brake. Kia dealers have instructed these car owners to bring the vehicle in and have the pedal mount fixed free of charge.
