Wisconsin police crackdown on drunk driving after Super Bowl

Wisconsin police cracked down on drivers as they left Super Bowl parties on Sunday. Compared with other Sundays during the year, drunk driving arrests are up 30 to 40 percent on Super Bowl Sunday.

Brown County launched a task force to cut back on Operating While Intoxicated charges and officials within the police department have stated that they have seen “tremendous results.”

As far as Super Bowl Sunday goes, “We go somewhere in the 70s to somewhere around 112 so we definitely see a big increase Super Bowl Sunday when we look at the Sunday before and Sunday after. It’s a big spike on Super Bowl Sunday night in terms of OWI’S,” Mike Panosh, with the Wisconsin State Patrol said.
