Wisconsin DOT releases 2011 accident report

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has released the car accident report of 2011.

Sheboygan County released the number of fatal crashes that occurred on the roadways in 2011 and there were seven. This number has increased by one since 2006, but it is much lower than the five-year average.

In Sheboygan County, there were three alcohol-related crashes in 2011 and one pedestrian was killed in a motorcycle crash. Throughout history, nearly 50 percent of all fatal crashes are alcohol-related and officials are happy to see improvement, but want the ratio to improve even more. Across the state, the number of fatalities rose to 567 from 562.
