Wisconsin State trooper involved in accident

A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper was seriously injured after he was struck by a car on Interstate 43.

The trooper was struck while trying to direct traffic for another accident that occurred nearby. The accident occurred as a 49-year-old driver lost control of her vehicle on the icy road and struck the trooper who was helping with another accident.

The female driver and her two children in the vehicle were uninjured, but the state trooper was sent to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The troopers were at the scene responding to a rollover accident in the area.

Car accidents can occur unexpectedly, especially during dangerous weather conditions. Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim as he recovers.
