University of Wisconsin-Stevens Points Requests New Crosswalks

As more and more students are opting to walk to class, many at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point are worrying that new crosswalks are needed to ensure the safety of these new pedestrians. The area within 15 blocks of the campus is becoming increasingly congested with walkers, thus increasing the possibility of car-pedestrian accidents.

Many in the university’s governing body are pushing for an increase in crosswalks across campus, including the superintendent of buildings at UWSP. This would make the area safer and hopefully decrease the number and severity of accidents.
