The lack of snow in parts of Wisconsin has caused officials with the Department of Natural Resources to reconsider the candlelight snow event.

Between the months of January and February, there are more than 30 candlelight ski events planned and the first five begin this Saturday. The events are to take place in trails, state parks, forests and other recreational areas.

DNR officials have said that the lack of snow is causing the events to be changed to candlelight hikes or be completely cancelled. The affected areas are southern and central Wisconsin.
